History of the Michael Miller Scholarship Fund
It has always been the desire of the Skopelos Foundation for the Arts to establish a scholarship for exceptional artists who apply to its residency program. Michael Miller was the Director of the Printmaking Department of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago from 1973 to 2013 and one of the founding members of our Board of Directors. He was an integral part of the Foundation. After his death in 2014, his wife Kathleen King, also an accomplished artist, decided to establish an annual award in his name. The purpose of the scholarship is to promote and encourage residency opportunities for artists in the fields of printmaking, drawing, film, and video making, painting and ceramics.
